May 2, Japanese ambassador to plant sakura trees within Bakhmut

As of this year May 2, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi will take part within a campaign to plant cherry blossom trees within Bakhmut, Ukrinform says referring to the Bakhmut City Council report.
«In order to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the countries, cherry blossom trees will be planted in the central part of our city with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi, representatives of regional and local authorities, public and residents of Bakhmut town,» the report reads.
It is to be reminded, within 2017, as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as the celebration of the Year of Japan in Ukraine, the Embassy of Japan, with the support of JTI, launched a campaign of sakura planting. Thus, in total, over 1,500 sakura trees were planted within Ukrainian cities.
