South-Central Brazil accelerates sugar cane processing
30.04.2018 14:24 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this year Apr first half, South-Central Brazil, the world largest sugar output region, has accelerated sugar cane harvesting and boosted its processing by 25% against last year similar,
Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to Reuters report.
As to the report, within this year Apr first half, South-Central Brazil processing plants have processed 22.21 million tonnes of sugar cane (up against last year similar 17.7 million tonnes). It is to be admitted, 68.5% of these processed lots were directed for the ethanol output ( which, in turn, has jumped to 993 million liters, up 44.6% against last year similar).
As to the report, within this year Apr first half, South-Central Brazil processing plants have been stably producing the sugar, with sugar output having reached 714,000 tonnes. The plants worked stably even despite sugar cane shipments growth - as plants tried to receive more cane in order to produce more biofuel (since biofuel output assures higher profits now when sugar sale prices have faced the last 2 years minimum low).
Reportedly, within this year Apr first half, South-Central Brazil domestic
water ethanol sale has jumped by 29.4% against last year similar. Local drivers continued to use more biofuel as a replacement for expensive gasoline.
