Ukrainian 2017 potato export up 3.5 times

As to the 2017 results, Ukrainian agrarians have shipped to the foreign markets 17,600 tons potato, up 3.5 against 2016. In monetary terms, Ukrainian potato export totaled US$3.44 million, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, the largest buyers of Ukrainian potato were Belarus (10,500 tons for US$ 2.6 million), Moldova (4,000 tons, US$0.5 million) and Azerbaijan (2,500 tons, US$242,000).
Reportedly, simultaneously, within 2017, Ukraine also imported potato.
Thus, as of 2017, Ukrainian potato import totaled 3,800 tons (US$2.05 million), with biggest sellers being Netherlands (1,400 tons, US$859,000) and Egypt (500 tons, US$207,000).
Upon whole, Ukrainian 2017 potato foreign trade surplus was US$1.4 million.
