Ukrainian central bank considers e-hryvnia introduction
15.01.2018 13:18 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) continues a research project it started late within 2016 to study the possible introduction of an electronic hryvnia, or e-hryvnia, on the basis of blockchain technology, NRCU says referring to the Bank press service report.
«The NBU wants to specify that this is the possible introduction of the e-hryvnia rather than an own cryptocurrency,» the report reads.
As to the report, the e-hryvnia may minimize transaction costs amid remittance on Ukrainian payment market and handle operations almost instantaneously.
It is to be reminded, the Ukrainian National Coordination Center for Cyber Security had instructed the corresponding authorities to develop a mechanism to ensure access of law enforcement agencies to data of crypto currency exchanges.
