Domestic chicken eggs prices to rise

On the domestic market, chicken eggs prices can grow by 10 - 15% and amount to an average of about UAH26 for a dozen by yearend, NRCU says referring to the scientists of the National Scientific Center ‘Institute of Agrarian Economics’ report.
«The jump in prices for this product is due to the fact that the price of grain, which is the basis of the poultry diet, directly depends on the dollar rate. In addition, domestic egg producers are primarily selling their products on foreign markets, where Ukrainian chicken eggs are in high demand, and only the surplus of products is sold on the domestic market. If demand increases both on the domestic market and on the foreign markets, the price goes up,» the report reads.
