Brussels will host the EaP summit

As of this week, while speaking within the annual Minsk Forum, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said that within this week, as of Nov 24, Brussels will host the EaP summit, Belarus Radio reports.
As to the report, Makei has also voiced the Belarus attitude to this initiative.
Thus, the Minister emphasized that setting specific goals to improve the well-being of societies and competitiveness of economies should be at the heart of the Eastern Partnership.
«We have always wanted the Eastern Partnership to benefit regional development. We need a fair balance between economic growth and democracy, pace and sustainability of reforms,» Makei added.
As to the report, he noted that as two of the six countries of the Eastern Partnership are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, and three states are participants of the free trade zones with the European Union, this initiative is destined to play a role in their approximation.
Also, Makei stressed that Belarus is interested within a strong and influential EU. As to him, reliable neighbors are the guarantee of the EU stability.
