SAEE Chairman: Ukraine, Canada have enormous potential for cooperation within clean energy

As of yesterday, while speaking within the Toronto Global Forum in Canada, where Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman had made a report, Chairman of Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serghiy Savchuk said Ukraine and Canada have huge potential for cooperation, inter alia in renewable energy sector, Government Portal reports.
As to the Prime Minister, Canada is one of the most priority partner countries for Ukraine. Particular attention will be paid to the opportunities for Canadian businessmen to participate in joint investment projects.
As to the report, Savchuk said he is convinced that Canadian experience in renewable energy will be of utmost importance for Ukraine.
«Ukraine favors attracting Canadian technologies and investments into renewable energy projects. We have drafted a favorable legislative basis, eliminated a number of regulatory barriers and introduced an attractive „green“ tariff.
There is a significant untapped resource base within the region and mayors are ready to implement reforms in favor of citizens,» Savchuk underscored.
