Ukraine sows winter grains at 535,000 ha for 2018 harvest

As of this year Sept 12, Ukraine has sown 535,000 hectares with winter grains for the 2018 harvest (7% of the total planned), Interfax-Ukraine says referring to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry report.
Thus, in part., winter wheat and triticale were sown on 503,000 ha (8% of the plan), rye on 20,000 ha (12%), and barley on 12,000 ha (1%).
Besides, a campaign to sow rapeseeds is about to end: 728,000 ha (or 94% of the target) has been already sown.
As to the report, by the said date, Ukraine had threshed 37.5 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops from 9.7 million ha (100%) with an average yield of 3.38 tonnes per hectare.
