Groisman: Budget for road repairs this year will exceed UAH20 milliard

28.08.2017 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The total amount of funds that has been already allocated for carrying out road repair activities exceeded UAH20 milliard and the length of repaired roads is more than 750 km. At the same time, 40 thousand km of roads have undergone patching repair, Government Portal says referring to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman report. As to Groisman, within this year all works were kicked off on schedule within Apr, whereas last year the first road tenders were held only within Aug. «Every week we make inspection visits to regions, check the progress and quality of repair works and open the repaired sections of road surface. Particular attention is paid to the construction of new highways», the Head of Government stressed. As to him, one of such projects is the road Lviv-Odesa through Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Kherson. The route connects the Ukrainian western border with the sea ports and will become a powerful component of the Ukrainian transit possibilities. The work has already begun, within 3–4 years the country will get a new road of European quality connecting the West-South. «We are consistently performing the set task of boosting of the infrastructure sector financing and improving the quality of roads, and within 3–5 years the public road system situation will be radically changed,» Groisman stressed.
