Vinnytsia region agrarians started grains harvesting

As of Jul 16, Vinnytsia region agrarians have begun early grains harvesting, reported Vasil Chorniy, Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Deputy Chairman. «Some companies have started already harvesting barley, peas and winter rape,» declared Chorniy. Deputy Chairman made it known harvesting campaign was started by Yampil, Trostianets, Kryzhopol and Bershadske districts agrarians. As earlier reported, Vinnytsia region forecasted this year grains gross crop 2.1 mn MT (unchanged against last year); as to forecast, this year wheat/rye crop will reach 820,000 MT. In 2006 Vinnytsia region agricultural companies have sown spring crops at 1,010.474 ha, with early grains/leguminous sown at 338,200 ha, sugar beet at 103,172 ha, maize at 163,313 ha, sunflower at 83,018 ha, buckwheat at 40,724 ha, rape at 12,832 ha, soybeans at 41,270 ha and millet at 4,274 ha. Vinnytsia region winter crops sown areas are 350,000 ha. Vinnytsia region agricultural lands total 1.7 mn ha; region 2005 grain crop equaled to 2.1 mn MT.
