«We established a working group of representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and farmers’ associations, moreover the meeting will be held next week. We will work out and present the targeted farm support program, which will include targeted support for livestock farming and farms. It is very essential for us to give an impetus for the development of the country farming, we are going to support not large holdings, but directly small farm enterprises that will become the basis of our agricultural sector. It is of utmost importance for us to realize the full potential of agriculture, crop production, cattle breeding as well as processing,» the Prime Minister said.
As expected, the program will be agreed with the farmers’ associations and will be finally shaped
by this year Aug 1. However, its presentation is scheduled for this year Sept.
«The indicative budget (of the program) is understandable to me, but I am deeply convinced that we must increase the targeted aid and put every single effort to allocate funds to the neediest sectors,» Groisman said.
