Augustow Canal Park gearing up to welcome 10,000th visa-free tourist

As to Oleg Andreichik, Head of the sport and tourism department of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, the Augustow Canal Park is now gearing up to welcome the 10,000th visa-free tourist, Belarus Radio says referring to BelTA.
As to him, with the beginning of the spring season, the number of visa-free tourists visiting the Augustow Canal and its surroundings, including the regional center, has been growing. Thus, within this year Apr 10–16, the Augustow Canal Park was visited by about 1,000 foreigners. It is to be admitted, last week Sat the park was visited by about 700 people (a new record for the weekend).
It is to be reminded, the Decree on the introduction of visa-free travel to the Augustow Canal for foreigners had come into force as of last year Oct 26.
The document permits foreign nationals to stay on the territory of the park and its surroundings for a period of up to five days.
