PM urges local authorities to focus on roads repair, construction

As of yesterday, while speaking within the Cabinet meeting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman urged local authorities to use with maximum responsibility resources obtained due to the decentralization process to ensure proper organization as well as a high-quality of work regarding the road repair activities, Government Portal reports.
«Annual serious systematic work will provide an opportunity to trigger activities concerning road repairs more efficiently. It is a top objective for local governance which possesses billions, dozens milliards due to the decentralization reform which can be allocated to ensure reconstruction and repair road activities at a high level,» the PM admitted.
«I appeal to local leaders, mayors, chairmen of communities of Ukraine, regional state administrations, regional administrations, regional council-dear fellows, I urge you to spare no effort to carry out properly and efficiently road repairs and constructions activities,» Groisman stressed.
Groisman reminded since 2918 the roads repair/reconstruction process as well as necessary resources will be transferred to the level of responsibility of local communities. So, he admitted within this context local authorities are to demonstrate infrastructural readiness to carry out these activities.
