Ukraine to boost agricultural products export to Azerbaijan

The systematic development of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations within the agriculture sphere as well the boost of commodity exchange is of paramount importance for both Ukraine and Azerbaijan, Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Kutoviy report within a today meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev.
«Ukraine is a powerful player in the system of providing global food security. The agro-industrial complex of our country is not demonstrating boost of production, but also growth of exports. I believe that we have all prerequisites to enhance trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan,» Kutoviy admitted.
As to the report, he told that the progress of Ukrainian reforms namely, State support to agricultural producers, a land reform, privatization of state-owned companies, ensuring sanitary and phytosanitary requirements and development of the organic market.
«The Ukrainian farmers’ ready products are gaining popularity on foreign markets from year to year. This proves their high quality and competitiveness. I think that these products would also satisfy the demands of customers in Azerbaijan,» Kutoviy admitted.
In their turn, the Azerbaijan officials expressed interest in increasing trade turnover with Ukraine both improving quantity and enlarging of nomenclature of supplies. Namely, Ukraine will export sunflower oil, grains, soy, corn, meat, chocolate while it will import vegetables, hazelnuts, wine, tea and other goods.
As to the report, the Azerbaijan delegation highlighted the willingness to participate the investment projects within the Ukrainian agrarian sector.
