Having sold 3,000 MT butter, State Reserve is set to purchase same butter volume until end 2006

State Committee for Material Reserves (State Reserve) has sold 3,000 MT butter on tender and now plans to buy same butter lot for State reserves until yearend, reported Yaroslav Boiko, State Reserve Material Storage Department Director, on press-conference. Boiko said taking into account that many domestic butter producers are usual to make butter with vegetable fats additions, Committee grants right to participate its tenders only to companies which can prove that products they offer are characterized with milk fats specific weight not below 72%. As earlier reported, this year Jan-May butter 72.5% fat output totaled 37,500 MT (down 3.3% as of last year Jan-May). 2005 butter output had grown to 117,330 MT, up 2,945 MT (+ 2.6%) as of 2004.
