President: Next year we must sign Ukraine-Israel FTA Agreement

As of yesterday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Zeev Elkin, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the Minister, as Head of Israeli part of the Joint Ukraine-Israel Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, informed the President on the results of the Commission regular session held in Kyiv within this year Oct 56.
Reportedly, Poroshenko emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in trade and economic direction and speeding up the conclusion of the bilateral free trade agreement.
«The issue of the need for the next meeting of the Commission was discussed during my recent talks with President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. I am glad the agreements reached are being implemented promptly,» the President said.
As to the report, the interlocutors have also discussed ways to intensify investment cooperation between the states, in particular opportunities for Israeli business due to the large-scale privatization that will be held in Ukraine.
Reportedly, parties noted successful functioning of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and Israel in the context of trade-economic cooperation development and tourist exchange.
As to the report, Ukrainian President thanked the Israeli side for its active participation in the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy. Petro Poroshenko said that the Ukrainian-Israeli common history required intensive and thorough research.
«We need to eliminate Soviet stereotypes that unfortunately have been ingrained in the minds of Israeli society and currently used in the information war against Ukraine,» he said.
