First Vice-Premier Kubiv: Ukraine may get US$1.7 milliard from IMF by this year Jul

The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serghiy Kubiv says that Ukraine hopes to complete talks with its key lenders, the International Monetary Fund, on the second review of the Extended Fund Facility program and receive the third tranche worth about US$1.7 milliard of an IMF loan by the end of the 2016 second quarter, UNIAN reports.
As to Kubiv, a preliminary plan of work with the IMF should be finalized and approved until May 1, 2016, as instructed by newly appointed Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman.
«There was a meeting of an ad hoc group last night where the Finance and Economy Ministries were present. They discussed the structure of communication [with the IMF]. There is a certain time frame for the fulfillment of instructions, including the preparation of bills for adoption by the Verkhovna Rada,» Kubiv said.
As to Kubiv, a Skype conference with the IMF is planned to be held.
«And well receive additional principals for the formation of the positions of the Finance and Economy Ministries and other government agencies,» he said.
«We will then formalize everything and inform [the public]. It will take some time, but wed like to make it soon. This should be done by May 1, the premier has set a clear task,» he added.
At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities will also take into account the countrys other lenders, namely the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank, he said.
