Ukrainian President had a meeting with Foreign Ministers of Germany and France

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko
had a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Jean-Marc Ayrault, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the President congratulated Jean-Marc Ayrault on the assumption of office.
As to Poroshenko, it is a pleasure that Jean-Marc Ayraults first foreign visit is
the visit to Ukraine.
Reportedly, the parties discussed the situation in the east of Ukraine and the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements. The President Poroshenko expressed concern over numerous violations of the ceasefire regime by Russia-controlled militants and their use of prohibited weaponry. The interlocutors stated necessity of political will from Russia for cessation of shelling.
As to the report, the Ukrainian President underlined the importance of access for the OSCE SMM to all areas of the occupied territories, including Ukraine-Russia border. He also noted the necessity of releasing all prisoners of war, including those illegally held in custody in Russia.
Also, the parties discussed an opportunity of deploying an international mission in Donbas as an important precondition for holding local elections under the Ukrainian legislation and the OSCE principles.
As to the report, Poroshenko also stressed the importance of preserving sanctions against Russia for it to fulfill the Minsk agreements.
Reportedly, the interlocutors coordinated further actions on the eve of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers in the Normandy format that will be held in Paris on this year Mar 3.
As to the report, the Ukrainian President highly appreciated the EUs assistance in the Ukrainian reforms implementation.
