Ukraine, Lithuania maintain cooperation within agricultural sector trade, economic relations

As of yesterday, while speaking within the meeting with Marius Yanukonis, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lithuanian Republic in Ukraine, Vladyslava Rutytska, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration, said Ukraine and Lithuania will continue the persistent and beneficial development of trade and economic relations in the agricultural sector, Government Portal reports.
«I would like to mention the active dialogue and cooperation between the agricultural Ministries of the two countries. Ukraine is interested in adopting of the Lithuanian experience and in cooperation on the issues of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation to European standards, in particular in the field of food safety. Also, one should outline the cooperation in the field of organic production. I believe that our state has serious untapped potential in this sphere,» Rutytska noted.
As to the report, the parties also discussed joint visits and a series of expert consultations on the provision of state support to agricultural producers and development of entrepreneurial initiatives in rural areas.
