As of today, while speaking at the UN headquarters in New York, the UN Secretary-General has urged the world leaders to move from «words to deeds» when it comes to climate change, UN Radio reports.
It is to be reminded, within last year Dec over 190 countries had agreed to limit global temperature rises due to carbon emissions, to less than 2 degrees Celsius.
As to the report, a high-level signing ceremony for the universal deal has been convened by Ban Ki-moon for this year Apr 22 at the UN headquarters in New York.
The participation of Heads of State and Government, Ban insisted, would show the world how engaged and committed they were.
«This agreement provides a solid foundation for the low carbon climate resilient transformation of the global economy. It will help secure a future that is safer, healthier and more prosperous for all people. But our task is not over. In fact, it has just begun. In 2016, we must go from words to deeds. The 22 April signature ceremony is an essential step,» Ban emphasized.
