Women in Science International Day firstly held at UN

As of the last week, the first International Day of Women and Girls in Science was held at the UN headquarters in New York, UN Radio reports.
As to the report, the event attendees said that when women are given career opportunities in maths and science fields, everyone benefits. Also, attendees emphasized its important for women and girls to get into science.
It is to be admitted, until now science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known by the acronym STEM, are in many countries traditionally dominated by men. However, the UN is hoping that will change.
