Yatseniuk: Government invites international companies to manage 4 Ukrainian customs houses
12.02.2016 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of yesterday, while speaking within the Cabinet open meeting, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said the Government was going to engage international companies to the management of Volyn, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia customs houses, Government Portal reports.
«This should be a company having experience of combating corruption in customs agencies, able to make a complete change in the system of maintenance and management,» Yatseniuk admitted.
As to him, the new management scheme stipulates «simplified customs services and enlarged budget revenues from the customs».
As to the report, the PM accentuated that these changes are expected to evoke «incredible resistance from the system»: «But we have to prove that such experiment at the four customs will yield success.»
Also, Yatseniuk reminded that in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Volyn and Odessa regions there had been launched an experiment to direct additional revenues from the customs houses for the construction of roads and all the regions, except for Odessa, demonstrated a success: thus, three regions directed the additional funds to build roads.
