Agriculture Ministry lowers Ukrainian grain yield forecast

The Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry has revised its forecast for a gross yield of grain in 2015 and lowered it by 300,000 tons, down to 59.2 million tons, UNIAN says referring to the Ministry press service report.
«The gross output of grain this year is expected at 59.2 million tons,» the report runs.
As to the Ministry, the Ukrainian 2015 grain crop will be enough not only to meet domestic demand and ensure the country food security, but also prop up export potential estimated at 36.6 million tonnes.
As to the earlier report, the Agriculture Ministry forecasted the Ukrainian gross yield of grain at 59.5 million tons.
As to the report, the Ministry admits this year the Ukrainian grains gross yield will be down against last year similar mainly due to maize yield decline.
