Three new Ebola cases confirmed in Guinea
29.10.2015 15:24 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Three new cases of Ebola disease have been confirmed in Guinea within the past week, UN Radio says referring to the WHO (World Health Organization) report.
As to the report, all of the new cases had been identified as «high-risk contacts» before they contracted the virus, and that they had links to a known chain of infection.
The report admits there’s a «near-term risk» of further infection in Guinea; however, at same time, Sierra Leone (a neighbour country) has reported zero cases for a fifth consecutive week.
It will be declared free of Ebola transmission on 7 Nov if no further cases are reported.
It is to be reminded, since the beginning of the outbreak, the disease has killed about 11,300 people.
