11.05.2006 15:00 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of May 10, agricultural companies have sown rape at 120,400 ha (of total planned 170,500 ha), reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to press-service, within last 3 days rape has been sown at 2,500 ha.
Reportedly, as of Apr 25, rape was sown at 71,200 ha.
As earlier reported, Oleksandr Baranivskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy, is certain this year spring agrarians will actively sow rape/soybeans instead of sunflower, thus reducing sunflower sown areas against 2005.
Ministry of Agrarian Policy had earlier forecasted in 2006 agrarians would sow spring rape at 169,900 ha (up against 86,800 ha in 2005).
