Global citizens urged to "stand up for a better world"

While speaking at the Global Citizen music festival in New York Citys Central Park within the last week, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged the global community of people to stand up for justice, dignity and a «better world», UN Radio report s.
It is to be admitted, the annual Global Citizen Festival originated in 2013. It was started to raise awareness about the need to end poverty across the planet by improving health and education and supporting gender equality.
As to the report, this years event comes a day after world leaders met at the United Nations to finalize 17 new development targets called the Global Goals.
Reportedly, the UN Secretary-General urged thousands of festival goers to, in his words, «Stand up for justice. Stand up for dignity. Stand up for a better world.»
As to the report, the festival attracted a number of headline bands including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé.
