While speaking at the Verkhovna Rada session on Fri, 17 Jul, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said that within the framework of his working visit to London and his meeting with Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron, it was agreed to cooperate in reforming the Ukrainian economy, including reforming the State Tax Administration and customs, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, while speaking to the VR, Yatseniuk admitted that the Ukrainian Government was negotiating on transferring of the management of some Ukrainian customs offices to a British company, which had experience in managing customs in some EU member states and other countries.
«We expect the negotiations to complete and the management of several customs offices to be transferred to a British company and show that we are not just a new culture of communication at customs, and that income of those customs, which are operated by the old corrupt Ukrainian officials, and those to be transferred to the management of a British company significantly differ,» Yatseniuk pointed out.
Moreover, he said that UK experts have to come to Ukraine in order to assist in conducting «full and comprehensive reform of the tax administration.»
«I deem that the best way is to cut the State Fiscal Service by two times and correspondingly boost salaries,» he stressed.
As to the report, Yatseniuk also stressed the need to minimize contacts between taxpayer and tax administration as much as possible.
«E-governance in the tax system. The less one talks to a tax official, the less bribery there is. It’s impossible to pass a bribe via Internet,» he said.
