As of yesterday, on the eve of the session of the Trilateral Contact Group on Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donbas that is to be held on Jun 23 in Minsk, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with representative of Ukraine on the TCG Leonid Kuchma and Ukrainian participants in the working subgroups on political, security, social, economic and humanitarian issues, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, Poroshenko emphasized that this meeting would be special, because on Jun 22, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States had adopted the decision on prolongation of sanctions against the Russian Federation due to non-compliance with the Minsk agreements.
Reportedly, the President noted that in the last few weeks the Ukrainian party had provided convincing evidence of its strict compliance with the undertaken commitments envisaged by the Minsk agreements.
The President was hopeful that the TCG session will be coordinated with the meeting of Foreign Ministers in the Normandy format that will be held tomorrow in Paris. «The position of Ukraine, Germany and France is clearly coordinated. We insist on full and unconditional fulfillment of the Minsk agreements,» Poroshenko emphasized.
