Latvian experts assist port of Odesa to set up SafeSeaNet system

Latvian employees of border and customs services have presented the project ANNA at the Odesa commercial sea port. Its goal is to set up a maritime «single window» (SafeSeaNet) which will enable all participants of the port network to exchange information only in the electronic form, NRCU reports referring to Ukrinform.
«Experts from Latvia, mainly employees of the border and customs services of this country - a member of the EU, shared their experience in building, functioning of a legal framework for a maritime „single window» in real time with their Ukrainian colleagues - employees from the port of Odesa and seaports authority of Ukraine state enterprise. The network electronic system installation in all seaports enables the exchange of commercial information," the spokesperson of the press-service of maritime authority Olena Hiriaieva said.
As to the report, the EU experts have created recommendations that will allow Ukraine to successfully complete the objectives. Besides, a working group that includes both EU experts and representatives of Ukraine seaport authority has been organized to implement SafeSeaNet system in Ukrainian ports.
