Yatseniuk begins working visit to Berlin

On Wed, Apr 1, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk is paying a working visit to Berlin, within which he is scheduled to have talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the Prime Minister told German journalists that within the meeting with Angela Merkel they are to tackle a number of issues, in particular the implementation of the Minsk agreement and economic projects, «which have been initiated by the Chancellor to support Ukraine».
As to Yatseniuk, the parties shall discuss signing of the documents to ensure implementation of a German government «programme worth EUR 500 million directed to economic stabilization of Ukraine»: «We expect that German business will be invited to participate in this program, as out of the sum amounting 500 million Euros 200 million will be sent to fill the State budget, while 300 million Euros for infrastructure and economic projects».
Besides, Yatseniuk informed that at the meeting with Angela Merkel and business circles of Germany as well he would raise an issue of attracting investors from the EU and the U.S. to jointly upgrade and use the Ukrainian GTS.
As to the report, now a meeting of the Head of Ukrainian Government with representatives of German business circles is underway. Before the event Yatseniuk had an interview with journalists in which he had named the principal obstacle to have international investors in Ukraine: «the security and the Russian aggression against Ukraine».
Besides, Yatseniuk stressed that a lot would depend on abiding by Russia of the Minsk arrangement to de-escalate the situation in the eastern Ukraine. At this, he reminded that these arrangements had been supported by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President François Hollande.
