Ukrainian PM calls on Parliament speed up establishment of National Anti-Corruption Bureau
15.12.2014 11:56 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
"The establishment of a National Anti-Corruption Bureau requires a special procedure, and the Parliament finally decides who will manage it. I appeal to MPs to speed up this process and jointly with the President to launch this body," Government Portal reports quoting the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as saying while
presenting the Action Program of the Government at the Parliament on Thursday, December 11.
As to the report, the Prime Minister said that the establishment of a National Anti-Corruption Bureau had been provided in a first package of «the most tough and reformist laws against corruption», adopted two months ago, one of which had been submitted by the President, four by the Government of Ukraine.
Besides, a law had been approved that provided the creation of a National Anti-Corruption Commission: «According to this law, all the declarations of officials will be published in the electronic database. Also, the law entitles a national anti-corruption body to engage in so-called monitoring of a public servant’s life in order to check whether the declaration coincides with the reality.»
Also, Yatseniuk emphasized that in the framework of an anti-corruption package of legislation there was provided the «disclosure of all databases and registries about all the assets and property belonging to officials,» including land property: «Thats the reason why we need to finally disclose the data of the State land cadastre, which holds all the databases on the land.»
