Ten year action-plan adopted for landlocked developing countries

A ten-year action plan to accelerate sustainable development in the worlds 32 landlocked developing countries known as LLDCs has been adopted at a major United Nations conference in Vienna, Austria,UN Radio reports.
As to the report, the Programme of Action includes steps to help LLDCs to improve international trade and bolster regional integration and cooperation.
It is to be admitted, these countries are characterized by their lack of easy access to oceans and seas and the resulting impact on trade and development.
Reportedly, since Monday, more than 1,000 participants from around the world have been discussing the challenges they face, including transport, sustainable energy, trade facilitation and economic diversification.
The conference considered agriculture, connectivity challenges, the role of migration and the special issues faced by mountainous LLDCs.
In meanwhile, it is estimated that 440 million people globally live in landlocked countries.
