German experts recommend European investors to introduce projects in Ukrainian renewable energy sector
05.11.2014 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
German experts recommend European investors to introduce projects in the renewable energy sector of Ukraine. This topic was raised at a meeting of Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serghiy Savchuk with representatives of the Agency for Renewable Resources of the Federal Republic of Germany, the GFA Consulting Group, which took place on 31 October in the office of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Government Portal reports.
«Today, the Government adopted the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy till 2020, called to increase the share of renewable energy in the energy balance of Ukraine up to 11%. To achieve such an ambitious goal, the Government creates the most favourable conditions for investors who wish to work in Ukraine», informed the visitors Savchuk.
As to report, Savchuk also noted the importance of the program and stressed that the Government of Ukraine had adopted the plan of short and medium - term measures to reduce consumption of natural gas for the period up to 2017 and the relevant training will be particularly useful for the local authorities.
Reportedly, at the end of the meeting the parties, taking into account the positive changes that have occurred in Ukraine, agreed about the necessity to sign an updated Memorandum of understanding between the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and the Agency of Renewable Resources of the Federal Republic of Germany.
