17.10.2014 17:21 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
"Important" results have been achieved during the discussion on the Ukrainian crisis, NRCU reports quoting the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi as saying.
«We took an important step in the discussion on Ukraine. We believe it is important to include Russia in efforts aimed at tackling international problems,» he said after a meeting of key EU leaders, the Russian and Ukrainian presidents in Milan.
As to report, Renzi expressed hope that the leaders of countries would have an opportunity to involve Russia in resolving the situation in Ukraine. He said that participants in the morning meeting had stressed the importance of full compliance with the Minsk agreements.
«We also note the importance of monitoring the border between Ukraine and Russia, as mentioned by the French President Francois Hollande. This border should also be observed by drones, and Germany, France and Italy can help here. This will help Ukraine and Russia monitor the border between the states,» Renzi said. He said that he appreciated a meeting in Milan for the effective implementation of the Minsk agreements and a peaceful solution to the crisis.
Reportedly, the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, in turn, said: «We hope that the agreements that were reached in Minsk will be respected in the future. And this will help achieve peace.» «In general, the discussion was very direct and open. And I am convinced that there is no problem that the EU could have not resolved,» he added.
