Feb starch output down 1.7%, to 2,660 MT

Feb 2006 starch, inulin and wheat gluten output has declined to 2,665 MT, down 45 MT (- 1.7%) against Jan 2006 and down 81 MT (- 3.3%) as of Feb 2005, reported Agrarika Ltd referring to Feb companies operative data.
As to Agrarika Ltd, Jan-Feb 2006 starch output totaled 5,375 MT (down against 5,469 MT in Jan-Feb 2005).
As earlier reported, Jan 2006 starch, inulin and wheat gluten output had fallen to 2,710 MT, down 411 MT (- 13.2%) against Dec 2005.
Jan-Dec 2005 starch output totaled 31,200 MT (up against 28,400 MT in Jan-Dec 2004).
Presently in Ukraine there are 15 plants specializing in starch production, with total annual capacity exceeding 50,000 MT. Starch is used as food product and as textile, pulp/paper, oil/gas industries resource.
