06.10.2014 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Teachers are an investment for the future of countries.
Thats the message of the UNs educational organization, UNESCO, on this years World Teachers Day
(celebrated Oct 5), UN Radio reports.
As to report, UNESCO is highlighting that teachers need the skills, knowledge and support that will enable them to meet the diverse learning needs of every girl and boy.
As to the organization, the quality of education is undermined by a deficit of teachers, with 1.4 million needed in classrooms.
In addition, all too often teachers work without resources or proper training, which also affects the quality of their work.
UNESCO is therefore calling for teachers to remain a priority, to ensure that 250 million children who havent yet acquired basic skills of reading and writing are given the opportunity to learn.
