Poroshenko: priority of state is to protect every citizen

The key task of the state is to protect the rights, life and health of every Ukrainian citizen and the efforts of all governmental bodies must be aimed at this purpose," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted at the meeting with Ukrainians liberated from Libyan captivity, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«The key task for us was to change the attitude of the Ukrainian state to each Ukrainian, as well as Ukrainians abroad. The protection of their rights, life and health must be a top-priority for the state. We were obliged to ensure efficient protection of your life,» Petro Poroshenko addressed the participants of the meeting.
«Everyone must know that if somebody gets into trouble, the state will do everything to save him and provide help. For it is the main purpose of the state. Ukraine will struggle for its citizens everywhere,» the President emphasized.
The Head of State noted that the process of liberation had been pretty difficult and many executives of the Arab states had been involved in it.
At the same time, he admitted that it was too early to celebrate the victory, for another 4 Ukrainians were still in captivity. The Head of State expressed confidence that they would soon be liberated, for all accusations against them were unfounded. «All accusations against them are unfounded. Civilized world knows that,» the President said.
It is to be reminded, in 2011 Libyan rebels had captured 24 workers of Libyan-Russian petroleum services company TAHARA among which were 2 Russians, 3 Belarusians and the rest of them were Ukrainians. Media reported that Lybian rebels accused the workers, the majority of them from service personnel, of aiding former leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi. On August 24, 2014, they were liberated and sent to Moscow, then — to Kyiv. One of Ukrainians died in captivity.
4 Ukrainians are still in captivity of Misrata militants: father and son Volodymyr and Vadym Chyhyriov, Yuriy Sanin and Anatoliy Ruban. Their comrades conveyed a letter from wives of the captives to the President with a request to facilitate their liberation.
