Military parade was held in Kyiv on occasion of 23rd anniversary of Independence of Ukraine

Military parade was held in Kyiv on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to report, battalion of ATO participants, squadrons of the Honor Guard, Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum of Kyiv, Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National University of Defense, separate regiment of the President of Ukraine, Ivan Kozhedub Air Force University of Kharkiv, composite parade battalion of Naval Forces of Ukraine, the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization, the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National University of Civil Defense, the Border troops of Ukraine solemnly marched.
Column of armored fighting vehicles that will be sent to the ATO area was demonstrated on Khreshchatyk. Particularly, the parade included armored personnel carriers of Kremenchuk car factory «KrAZ Koguar», Ukrainian armored personnel carriers BTR 3E, BTR 4E of Kharkiv Malyshev factory, samples of MANPAD «Igla», antitank canons, MLRS «Smerch», surface-to-air missile systems «Osa».
Besides, art performances on themes of heroic pages of the Ukrainian history were held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
Reportedly, the Head of State had a conversation with ATO participant Oleksandr Shvetsov who bravely fulfilled his military duty defending Ukraine in the ranks of the 30th separate mechanized brigade. Oleksandr was wounded in the battle for the liberation of Luhansk from terrorists. The President congratulated the warrior on the Independence Day and thanked him for heroism demonstrated in the course of the ATO.
