22.08.2014 10:34 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The law on the reform of the management for the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) was drawn up in full compliance with the general agreement on trade with services and it does not violate Ukraines liabilities as a part of the World Trade Organization (WTO), NRCU reports quoting the Ukrainian commissioner for European integration Valeriy Piatnytsky as saying.
«As earlier, the Ukrainian gas transmission system will remain under the jurisdiction of the state of Ukraine. The law defines the conditions for the GTS operator in a transparent way, and it does not restrict the access to the transportation services for all WTO members,» Piatnytsky said. «The statements from some representatives of the Russian authorities and experts about alleged violations are groundless,» he said. As to earlier report, Ukraine’s parliament had passed a landmark bill to reform the GTS: it had been planned to create two companies to service the GTS and underground storage facilities, with the participation of only U.S. and European partners.
