Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts 2006 spring wheat sown areas will enlarge by 0.14 million ha, up to 0.6 million ha

Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts
this spring agrarians will sow spring wheat at 622.700 ha (up against 480.000 ha in 2005), reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy, that will assure spring wheat sown areas enlargement by 142.400 ha.
It is to be reminded, Ministry experts forecasted spring grains sown areas widening due to winter grains destruction high percentage.
As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy data, as of Mar 15, winter grains sown last autumn at 545.900 ha (of total sown 5.138.000 ha) are to be resown this spring.
As to Ministry, winter wheat has been destroyed at 351.400 ha (6.9% total sown areas).
Ministry experts estimate condition of winter wheat sown at 1.357.900 ha (26.7% total sown areas) as weak/rare; condition of winter wheat sown at 1.983.400 ha (39% total) is considered as satisfactory.
As earlier reported, 2005 wheat crop had grown to18.699 million tons (in terms of weight after additional processing), up 6.7% against 2004.
2005 winter wheat crop totaled 17.683 million tons (spring wheat 1.016 million tons).
2005 grain crop totaled 38.015 million tons, down against 41.808 million tons in 2004.
