Ukrainian President expressed condolences to King of Netherlands: Our hearts are broken from pain

On behalf of the people of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko expressed condolences to King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander over the dreadful tragedy which ended up with 192 Dutch citizens dead, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«Yesterday, when laying flowers near the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kyiv, I saw the square in front of the Embassy full of flowers and signs of grief of the Ukrainian people. Our hearts are broken from pain just like the hearts of your people,» the President said in a phone conversation.
The President noted that under his instruction, the following day in Kharkiv, at 11 am, the mourning ceremony would be held to pay tribute to the victims of flight MH-17 crash. After the ceremony, the plane with the dead bodies will depart to the Netherlands to transfer the bodies to their families.
The King of the Netherlands expressed gratitude to the people of Ukraine and President Poroshenko: «I am grateful for extraordinary cooperation and support you demonstrate in extremely difficult times for your country. Dutch people saw the sincerity and compassion of Ukrainians and it brought the people of the two states significantly closer to each other in the moment of common tragedy. I hope that in the future we will be able to provide a positive continuation to such an approximation».
At the end of the conversation, President Poroshenko invited the King and the Queen of the Netherlands to visit Ukraine at their convenience. «I would like to continue our friendly dialogue which I was honored to begin with Your Majesty in Normandy in the course of celebration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. I am confident that we will return peace to Ukraine and will have an opportunity to decently welcome you in our state,» the President said.
