Yatseniuk vows to agree with parliament on investors in Ukrainian GTS

Well-known gas pipeline companies from the EU and the United States, which are to be selected at an open tender as participants in a company operating the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS), will definitely be approved by the Verkhovna Rada, NRCU says referring to the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk last week report.
«We propose that the decision to attract investors in a company operating the GTS be confirmed by the Verkhovna Rada. We will attract companies selected at open tenders,» Yatseniuk said, while presenting a government-proposed bill in parliament on last week Thursday.
«The Ukrainian people must know who we attract as an investor on the operation and modernization of the Ukrainian GTS. These should be the key well-known European and American companies that should have consent and guarantees in the Ukrainian parliament,» Yatseniuk admitted. This proposal by the Prime Minister helped to put the bill on the agenda, but its further consideration was postponed due to the criticism by MPs of excessive haste in adopting this document (which had been approved at a government meeting on June 18).
