Vitalii Yarema: Social protection and support for veterans is a priority for Government

07.05.2014 17:29 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As to Government Portal, on May 7, the First Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Vitalii Yarema met with veterans and participated in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the Victory, which took place in the Memorial complex «The National Museum of the history of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.» Speaking about the Victory Day, Yarema said that this day in people’s hearts is forever merged with spring, renewal of nature and a resurgence of hope for the future. The official thanked the veterans for their heroism. He stressed that the Ukrainians were always at the front line and with weapons in hands defended their Homeland in the hardest battles with the enemy. «We are in eternal debt to you for the youth torn by the war, for your heroism and courage, fortitude and sacrifice that you showed in battles for your native land,» he emphasized. The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine said that despite the difficult socio- political situation, the difficult state of the economy and the state budget deficit, all types of state social assistance are not only left but also increased. Yarema said that today Ukraine is being pushed to the confrontation, civil conflicts, however, «the victory won by older generations strengthens the spirit, helps to overcome the challenges, to go forward.» «Today we should be united and together build a new country where the life, health and well-being of every Ukrainian will be the highest values,» Yarema stressed. During the event the First Vice Prime Minister also presented to veterans diplomas of the Ukrainian Cabinet.
