Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Ambassador of Kazakhstan discuss agricultural cooperation

On May 6, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Ihor Shvaika held a meeting with Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Ukraine Tursibekov Zautbek Kauzbekovych, Government Portal reports.
During the meeting the Minister of Ukraine raised a question of cooperation between the countries in food industry, agricultural machinery and seed growing.
«Today we are ready to contribute into normalization of relations between our states. In particular, it concerns an opportunity to resume an access for Ukrainian diary goods and confectionery, without any restrictions, to the markets of Kazakhstan,» Shvaika emphasized.
In turn, the Ambassador thanked for a chance to meet. «Taking into account a long history of tight relations between Ukraine and Kazakhstan we are prepared to elaborate Ukraine-Kazakhstan program together and in its framework to launch joint regional trips to study top priority lines for future collaboration. Besides, there is a task set by our country leaders to rehabilitate all relations with Ukraine. Hence, we intend to work on resuming of preceding volumes of supply of Ukrainian goods to our country,» Tursibekov noted.
The Ambassador expressed readiness to purchase agricultural machinery of Ukrainian origin with the view to the functionality of it and correspondence with the needs of Kazakh agricultural producers. Moreover, during the meeting the interlocutors tackled an opportunity for each country to enter markets of third countries through organization of joint production. Notably, Kazakhstan would have a chance to supply production via Ukraine to the European Union, while Ukraine via Kazakhstan to China.
Shvaika suggested to design a roadmap of relations between Ukraine and Kazakhstan for the nearest 2 years and conclude a bilateral inter-branch agreement. «The Ukrainian side is ready, in case it receives information about concrete needs in agricultural machinery, to deliver respective goods to Kazakhstan.
Regarding seed growing we suggest exchange of experience on introduction technologies of improving soil fertility; regarding the scientific-research activities, plant breeding, testing of plant sorts - enlargement of trade and economic cooperation in agro-industrial complex between our countries. I hope that Kazakhstan being a Customs Union’s member won’t become the barrier for the development of our relations,» Shvaika stressed.
