Ukraine and Canada have agreed to cooperate in the field of grain, meat and dairy industries 20 January 2014

Ukraine is interested in continuing and opening new joint agricultural projects with Canada. Thus, for both countries, the interest lies in meat and dairy cattle since Canada has substantial experience in breeding livestock. In particular, Ukraine wants to invite Canadian specialists in this field to adopt their experience. Another joint project concerns the grain industry. It provides for the establishment of warehouses for grain, bringing it to the market and the organization of the relevant joint cooperatives. It was discussed at the yesterday meeting of Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olexandr Sen and the Director of Market Development at the Ministry of Agriculture of Canada Fred Gorell, Mykola Azarov Official Website reports.
«Ukraine has experience of implementing joint projects with Canada in agriculture. And today, we are interested in developing a new project to establish warehouses for grain, bringing it to the market and the organization of relevant specialized cooperatives. The project envisages the development of small and medium-sized enterprises producers of grain in Ukraines regions by creating cooperatives. They would be able to provide storage, processing and marketing services to their members,» said Olexandr Sen.
It is to be reminded that for 11 months of 2013 the trade of agricultural products between Canada and Ukraine had amounted to almost $ 87 million.
