Association Agreement with EU to facilitate flow of investments into agro-industrial complex of Ukraine

Taking into account global climate changes, the investors will feel more favors to invest funds into agrarian sector of Ukraine, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk informed during a sitting of the council of national and foreign investors today, Government Portal reports.
Apart from that, investment flow must grow after signing the Association Agreement with the EU. In particular, the head of the department noted additional funds are expected into development of agrarian market, restoring of irrigation systems, biofuel production, agricultural machine-building, cattle breeding and food industry.
«With the view to the global climate changes we can forecast that investments into agrarian sector of Ukraine will be very advantageous for the investors. In particular, Ukraine has reserves for significant growing of yield capacity. Reaching 90% against the yield capacity of the developed countries with preserving of present areas will ensure additionally up to 30 million tons of grain,» the Minister informed.
Moreover, Mykola Prysyazhniuk emphasized that after signing the Association Agreement with the EU the amount of investments must grow significantly.
«Intensifying of investment activity in agriculture mean real steps directed to improvement of competitiveness of the branch, increase of labor efficiency, solving of social problems. Hence, taking into account Eurointegration processes of Ukraine, the investment potential of the agrarian sector has to fulfill one of the key functions,» the Minister stressed.
The head of the department stressed that investment projects which take into account development of small economy forms in rural areas and their cooperation were the most favorable. Overall, to attract investors the state, first of all, has to lead favorable policy.
«We understand that global agri-food market reacts rather fast and vulnerably to any decision of the state level in the agrarian area. That’s why the Government tries to correct the domestic policy in such a way to ensure conditions of agrarian business to be understandable and predictable,» the Minister summed up.
