04.11.2013 10:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Russian consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has received documents from Lithuania concerning its dairy products and is optimistic about the resumption of their imports to Russia, Voice of Russia reports referring to Interfax.
«The Federal Service for the Supervision of Protection of Consumers’ Rights and Human Wellbeing has received materials from Lithuanian authorities containing information on the questions earlier asked by the Russian side regarding measures to ensure quality and safety of Lithuanian dairy products,» Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement.
Lithuania thanked Rospotrebnadzor experts for their competence and impartiality and for the suggestions and recommendations they made during their visit to that country, it said.
«This fact shows Lithuania’s interest in a constructive dialogue on providing quality and safety of its dairy products and gives grounds to be optimistic about the lifting of restrictions on their shipments to Russia,» it said.
Gradual resumption of supplies of Lithuanian dairy products to the Russian market will be considered as long as the Lithuanian national standards’ compliance with the relevant Russian regulations is assessed, it said.
