"Prime Minister Mykola Azarov will visit Moscow on Monday for talks with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on key issues of bilateral relations. Ukraine hopes to come to terms with Russia on their future cooperation after the formation of the EU-Ukraine free trade area," Azarovs spokesman Vitaliy Lukianenko told reporters on Friday, NRCU says.
«Ukraines cooperation with Russia and other CIS countries and the agreement on political association and free trade with the EU are high on the agenda. Our position is that these two free trade areas should not be juxtaposed. Both are important to Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary to coordinate all the regimes and regulations within both free trade areas as broadly as possible and on terms of equal partnership. In fact, they do not contradict each other, as they follow WTO principles,» Lukianenko said. He said that Azarov and Medvedev would specifically address the problems with Ukrainian goods imported to Russia. «Our joint expert group has prepared a number of proposals. The CIS Executive Committee has offered its assistance. A solution will certainly be found,» Lukyanenko said.
