OCHA: Over 150,000 people affected by heavy flooding in Sudan

Heavy flooding in Sudan has left thousands of people in need of relief assistance, according to the United Nations humanitarian agency (OCHA), UN Radio reports.
Citing local sources, OCHA says that over 150,000 people have been affected by the floods across nine states in the country.
It points out that while it is too early to determine the full extent of the damage caused by the floods, initial estimates are that at least 26,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed.
To find out more about the floods and what is being done to help the affected people, UN Radios Derrick Mbatha spoke with Mark Cutts, the head of OCHA on the line from the countrys capital, Khartoum.
