Mykola Azarov: Conclusion of "Ukraine&Partners" forum: there exists interest, there exists dialog, there exist projects

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov announced that interest of investors to Ukraine was growing and simultaneously interest of Ukraine in investments was huge, Government Portal reports.
He emphasized that at a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 19, 2013 drawing the conclusions of holding the First international business conference «Ukraine&Partners», which had taken place in Kyiv on June 1314.
«The main conclusion of the forum is there exists interest, there exists dialog, there exist projects. Interest in investments is mutual - interests of investors to the potential and resources of the country are growing, while the interest of Ukraine in investments is huge,» Mykola Azarov has said.
The Premier reminded that in the frames of the conference there had been held 16 panel discussions and roundtables into most urgent problems of the development of Ukraine’s economics. «We demonstrated how on the basis of the State program of activization of the economic development of Ukraine for 20132014 the principle of partnership between the state and private structures can be realized. In particular, there was made presentation of economic, tourist and recreation, and also investment potential of the state,» Mykola Azarov explained.
According to him, in turn the investors demonstrated their readiness to cooperate with us in various areas: from agro-industrial production to ship building and advanced technologies. «We heard from the partners what has to be done for the interest of investors to be converted into new investments,» the Head of Government noted.
He continued, the Government’s members and businessmen had had an opportunity to directly exchange with thoughts, to constructively discuss urgent issues. Just during the conference there were made practical steps towards realization of prospect business projects.
In particular, in the frames of the conference there were signed 11 agreements with business partners at the total sum of around EUR 500 million: in the area of agriculture, machine building, sustainable nature use and preserving of bioresources, IT technologies and infrastructure.
As the examples he named Partnership Agreements in IT technologies with Intel, partnership agreement between the National University of Bioresources and Nature of Ukraine and AMACO company (America) - the leader of advanced agricultural technologies and agriculture machines and equipment; License Agreement on production of trams between City Trans Group LAZ and Alstom (France) to the tune of EUR 60 million.
According to the Premier the conference has become also the platform for maintaining contacts between investors and representatives of Ukrainian regions.
At this, he noted that the Government had taken a decision on annual holding of this business forum and transforming it into an effective ground for international business cooperation.
